Coming from a technical theatre background (set and lighting design focus in college) that somehow evolved into a long career in retail visual merchandising P. Scott Holtz learned early in the game how to make things look good, appear organized, function well and do it on a budget.

In 1999 after his last retail employer filed for bankruptcy protection and began liquidation there wasn’t much need for a Regional Visual Merchandiser. Over the years in retail he had developed some solid visual communication skills and quickly found a company who needed "some work done". One job has always opened the door to the next and his clients referrals and involvement in the community provide him with all his work.

Working and living in Downtown Skokie - Scott holds strong in the belief that there is a chance for Downtown Skokie to be something more than it is. Scott is board member of IMODS (Independent Merchants of Downtown Skokie) and the Skokie Chamber of Commerce where he was named Volunteer of the Year for 2009. Scott has been instrumental in forming the Economic Development Task Force for the Skokie Chamber.

As  a committee member for Skokie’s Backlot Bash he is involved in planning and executing that annual event.  In 2008 Scott Holtz proudly accepted a community service award from the Illinois Parks and Recreation Association, the Illinois Association of Park Districts and the Skokie Park District for his involvement with the Bash.  Scott also created the branding materials for and is active in the planning of the Downtown Skokie's Cruise the Backlot classic car series held annually during the summer.

Scott Holtz also serves on the board of FUND69 (Foundation Uniting Neighbors of District 69) and his local LeTip chapter. In what spare time there is after all this he is happy to spend time with his family and the dogs.
